Go Make A Difference

At Crosswalk, we believe that when God speaks to and provides for us, we respond by sharing those gifts with our community. The grace that we have received enables us to make a difference in our world. Come make a difference with us, both near and far, big and small.

Phelps Luck ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Crosswalk members support students with school supplies at the start of the school year.  In addition, members provide Phelps Luck families with food and grocery gift cards at Thanksgiving, and gifts for children in Phelps Luck families at Christmas.

Day Resource Center (DRC):

The DRC in Jessup, MD provides various services to the homeless in Howard County. Crosswalk members serve monthly at the DRC by driving clients to the Center; and by preparing and serving a meal. Additional opportunities to support the Center exist throughout the year.

Elizabeth House (EH):

Elizabeth House serves in the Laurel/Howard County area by providing an evening meal and bag lunch 365 days a year. On the second Saturday of each month, Crosswalk members gather to prepare 120 bag lunches. Additional opportunities to support EH exists throughout the year.

Howard County Food Bank

For several years Crosswalk youth volunteered to collect food for the Howard County Food Bank.  Before the pandemic, the Youth Group, made up of middle and high schoolers, were set up at 3 Giant Food Stores in Columbia and collected food outside of each store during the "MLK Day of Service". Each year, in February, the Youth Group and Young Adult Ministry (YAM) group organize a "Souper" Bowl Soup Collection for the Howard County Food Bank. The church collects cans of soup through the month of February and then the YAM group will make arrangements to take it to the Howard County Food Bank. In past years, we have collected over 260 pounds of soup for the Food Bank.

This year, our "Souper" Bowl Soup Collection will tentatively begin on Sunday, February 4, 2024.

Worldwide

Ukraine:

In 2022, our Youth Crew organized a project with the congregation to collect clothing and other needed items for the children of Ukraine. The youth partnered with other churches to make this service project happen. It was very successful and the youth, along with the newly formed YAM (young adult ministry group) are looking to identify another world wide project they can support.

Support our ministries

It takes more than our time to support those in our community. Your financial support is greatly appreciated to continue helping our neighbors throughout the Baltimore and Washington areas.
