Go Make A Difference

At Crosswalk, we believe that when God speaks to and provides for us, we respond by sharing those gifts with our community. The grace that we have received enables us to make a difference in our world. Come make a difference with us, both near and far, big and small.

Phelps Luck ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Crosswalk members support students with school supplies at the start of the school year.  In addition, members provide Phelps Luck families with food and grocery gift cards at Thanksgiving, and gifts for children in Phelps Luck families at Christmas.

Day Resource Center (DRC):

The DRC in Jessup, MD provides various services to the homeless in Howard County. Crosswalk members serve monthly at the DRC by driving clients to the Center; and by preparing and serving a meal. Additional opportunities to support the Center exist throughout the year.

Elizabeth House (EH):

Elizabeth House serves the homeless in the Laurel/Howard County area by providing an evening meal and bag lunch 365 days a year. On the second Saturday of each month, Crosswalk members prepare an evening meal and 45 bag lunches. On the fourth Monday members assist in serving a meal and distributing bagged lunches. Additional opportunities to support EH exists throughout the year.

Howard County Food Bank

For several years Crosswalk youth volunteered to collect food for the Howard County Food Bank.  Before the pandemic, the Youth Group, made up of middle and high schoolers, were set up at 3 Giant Food Stores in Columbia and collected food outside of each store during the "MLK Day of Service".  In February, 2022, the Youth Group organized the "Souper Super Bowl Sunday'" soup collection. They collected and delivered over 260 pounds of canned soup to the Food Bank in Howard County.

PANAMA:

In July 2012, 11 people from the Crosswalk family (it was Our Shepherd at the time), traveled to Panama City, Panama, to participate in the ministries of the Lutheran Hour Ministries in Panama. We joined them as they shared the gospel message with children in their schools and with children at a hospital. Since that time we have been able to partner with them by buying puppets and a stage they use for their ministries and sending support to help them share God's word with people in Panama.

Support our ministries

It takes more than our time to support those in our community. Your financial support is greatly appreciated to continue helping our neighbors throughout the Baltimore and Washington areas.
